#71994 01/20/2007 4:35 PM | Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 46 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 46 | I have a 12 bolt rearend out of a 67 1/2 ton truck that measures the same width as my original torque-tube rearend, I know that the original axle is not centered & that I will have to move it back 1-1/2" to 2". My question is, I know I have to mount new perches on the axle, the rear springs measure 1-3/4" wide, would the be a problem using a perch thats 2-1/4" wide. I'm looking at a perch thats used for off road, they are long enough that I can drill the locating hole & offset the rearend to the back. CPP (1-800-522-5004) sells the 1-3/4" perches, or a whole kit including u-bolts and shock mounts. They also have a centering plate for your application. | | |
#71997 01/21/2007 4:36 AM | Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 2,031 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 2,031 | using a wider purch will cause issues with the axle U bolts that fit around the axle and go thru the new (as sold available kits) plate that is under the springs (unless you the plate holes are suited for your width) connects all this together. this plate also connects the shock to the frame support.
