One with Delco remy no.'s from a 53 3100, and another without tag from supposedly 56 truck both stomp type. I believe they both have nine teeth on Bendix drives. Would appreciate your expertise. Much appreciated...Sepp.

| | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,100 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,100 | Hy sepp22, one way to tell a six volt starter from a twelve volt starter is, the six volt starter has a larger diameter armature shaft. That is the reason we can't just swap starter drives when we want to change from six to twelve volt starter. A quick way to know one from the other if they still have tags is, a six volt starter has a black tag, and a twelve volt starter has a red tag, hope that helps. | | |
