For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2010 Posts: 22 Apprentice | | Apprentice Joined: Jan 2010 Posts: 22 | I'm using 1955 GMC cab w/ gauges hooked up to a 1971 chev wiring setup utilizing an internal regulator alt.
My understanding is the temp and fuel gauges are set up with one wire going to a switched 12v and the other to the sending units. Is this correct? thanks Doug

The sending units act as variable grounds. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2010 Posts: 22 Apprentice | | Apprentice Joined: Jan 2010 Posts: 22 | :)thanks Cletis and of course to ck it one would take the wire going to the sending unit and touch it to grnd and the gauge should peg right???? | | | | | Joined: May 2001 Posts: 7,438 Extreme Gabster | | Extreme Gabster Joined: May 2001 Posts: 7,438 | | | | | | Joined: Jan 2010 Posts: 22 Apprentice | | Apprentice Joined: Jan 2010 Posts: 22 | thank you Cletis I appreciate the help. Not sure why they are not moving to the right as there is power to them yet touching the sender wire to grnd did nothing. Can you tell me which post is the 12v and which is the sending post looking it from the back. Doug | | |
