I need a huge favor. I need to build a crossmember for my 1966 c10 longbed I'm putting a th350 in it. I'm learning as I go and have gone backwards a bit. If someone could take a straight edge to the bottom of their frame and measure up to the center of the output shaft and tell me what that measurement is. I will be able to build one at the right angle. Thank you for any help you can give this newbie. I will really appreciate it

mgriff, I can't help you with a specific measurement as I put a 700R4 in mine.
However I think you will be very accurate if you take a different approach.
I assume that you have the transmission. Mount it to the engine and with the engine in place on its mounts you will have a fixed point as to where your cross member will go.
Now just mount the cross member to the transmission and attach it to the frame at that point.

there are other ways to do it. your carb base on the manifold should be level from frt to back. or the c/shaft centreline should run fairly parallel to the pinion centreline. it doesn't mean that they have to be inline with one another, just that they are parallel

it would be a fixed point if one is using the stk type powerglide crossmember to install. it you are installing something else, then you have to find that point
the motor mounts are fixed but they are a ways forward
