I'm trying to find an online source for a set of brass freeze plugs (aka core plugs) for a 1958 Chevy 235.

FLAPS does not have one. Archive search did not turn up any information for this year of engine.

Thanks!

Call these folks:

Engine Parts Warehouse
Memphis
1809 Vanderhorn Drive
Memphis, TN (USA) 38134
(800) 238-2508

This is one of several warehouses operated by the Internal Engine Parts Group. I deal with their Nashville warehouse a lot.

Thery're mostly a wholesale distributor, but they can probably give you a part number and a brand name if they won't sell directly to you.

Here is NAPA set. Take the number to your flaps guy. It can be crossed referenced at any good flaps.

That set is for the 283 V8 not the 235 L6.

Oops,You are right. Sorry about that. I checked back a few years and really only see them for much earlier 235's, but I would think since in that era they all were nearly the same that an earlier set would work. Although inconvenient you could buy them individually by size.

Do they need to be brass? I just had NAPA do some work on my 235 and had them put in new cam bearings and freeze plugs. All from MAPA.

For posterity sake, I brought in all my old freeze plugs to FLAPS (Napa), and they sized them and sold me some new ones of the correct size. They just didn't come as a set like they do for other engines.

funny John, I was gonna suggest that, I've always been able to get any size individual brass plug from my local NAPA wink
