Hi there,

I am restoring a '54 3100 Chevy pick-up. Mind you this is my first project and I am completely green around an engine, so apologies in advance for the question I am about to ask.

I bought a new water pump and radiator. After installing it I now need to know where the 2 hoses from the heater connect. Does it matter which one goes to the pump and which on goes to the engine?

Thanks,

Carlos

If you have a recirculating heater, the plumbing would look like this.

It is a good idea to hook a garden hose to each tube one at a time to flush the rust and crud out first.

TC - Thanks a lot for the drawing. it makes sense now.

Pre - I think that is great advice...

Thanks again for the help. This is the last item before I get it running...I think. Is there ever a last item?! Looking forward to going for a ride after 18 months of figuring it out.

cheers,

Carlos

Carlos,

Yes, there is often a last item before we get them running. The reality is that there will always be another item to deal with.
