Seemed to have a pretty good window rattle on my side as I am going down the road.I believe it is the rollers, do I have to take the window and frame clear out of the door to fix it on my 55'chevy truck?

What series 55 truck? Advance-Design or Task Force?

What is the condition of the window run-channel?

47-55 1st series is the "Advance Design" model, 55 2nd-59 is the "Task Force" model, anytime you ask questions it's useful to know which you have smile

noises from in the door could be various different things, from the padding missing between the relay arm and the finish panel, to the channels having worn out felts, to the lower sash channel screws coming loose, but if the window still goes up and down reasonably well it's unlikely the rollers are worn enough to rattle ... need to start taking things apart and find out ohwell

my whole window use to rattle really bad then I figured out I needed the door glass channels that go in the upper part of the door frame around the window. The window slides up into them. They are felt or rubber/plastic lined.

door glass channels

I put those in and then door rubber around the door and things quieted down a bunch.

On my 55 2nd series, I had the same problem so I went ahead and changed the anti rattle fuzzies (they go across the inside and outside of the glass inside the door top. They were easy to change out without taking the door glass out. You just roll the window all the way down. Then take a flat head screw driver and pry them out. I think there are 5 round pins that pop into the top of the door frame. I also changed the glass channel runner. That is a little harder to do. You have to remove the inside window molding and vent glass and door glass. The shop manual tells you how to change them out. Here is a link to the online shop manual http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/shop/1955truck2/index.htm

I had the same problem got the whole kit from LMC now I need the door seals and the bumpers. My cab noise changed from rattle rattle to thunk thunk so I'm halfway to a quiet cab:)
