I purchased a seat cover what came with door boards and extra material to match the seat insert cloth on the 57 Chevy 3100 with deluxe cab.

I got the cameo style seat covers to dress it up a bit and wanted to put the door insert boards on too with the seat material.
What is the correct way to attach the material to the board? 3M spray-on cement or something?

And then how do they attach to the door itself?

It has two holes for the window and door crank but none for the door handle. Guess I will have to drill those holes for the door handle.
But will it stay in place with just those 3 things (4 holes) holding it or is there some other trick?
I have seen some screw it in but then others do not appear to have screws holding it on.

Also I have bought the back board (vinyl covered) to match the seat vinyl and cover the spings in back, but I do not see an obvious way to attach it to the back of the seat.
How do you do that?

The place I bought the covers from http://www.ciadellainteriors.com/1955cam.html said he thought that using sticky backed velcro would be the way to go to stick the door boards on. He said to use 6 strips on the back. But did no mention what to do to fasten the material to the board. I assume some 3M spray on Cement might work and I should maybe use some padding under the cloth?

Still not sure what to do to fasten the seat back board to the seat back.

when I built my kit car last year and installed the upholstery. The instructions said to use 3M 77 super multi purpose adhesive. The stuff works great on upholstery. you can pick it up at Lowes, it is pricey about $23.00 a can but a can goes a long way. As far as using padding under the covers. Hobby lobby sells various thicknesses of the stuff. and thanks for link.

glad I could pass on the help. There have been so many people help me out on the forum. Have you tried a search on the net for other folks who have done the custom job? Brothers has a bunch of custom tech articles. Maybe there is one on doing your type of custom install.
