The Stovebolt Site Forums The Parking Lot '60-'66 Trucks Custom bumpers?

Has anyone found, used or made a custom bumper on a 60-66 fleetside... front or rear? I recently saw one with Camaro split-bumpers on the front but failed to snap a picture. I was just curious if there were any passengercar bumpers or other applications that have been adapted for a "different" look.

Maybe you could take a stock set of bumpers and flip them. Position them in tighter and cut the ends a bit. Or maybe just use 67-72 bumpers and save some effort.

If I were to do a "crazy" shaved door handle, lowering and other type of Hot Rod goodies to a 60-66, having 2 spilt bumpers in the rear probally would look good and different.

I just seen one with the bumper of a 74 ElCamino mounted on the rear. He kept the outboard tailights and ran the exhaust through the inboard holes. Different---- but seem to fit pretty good.

Ooooooo... I like the exhaust thru the ElCamino bumper Idea. Might have to do some measuring in the junkyard. Chevelle/Laguna would be the same, yeah?

I thought about Camaro split bumpers in the front... it looks good in photoshop but that means nothing, lol.

The Chevelle and Laguna would be a little different to where the Elky's bumper is shaped alot like your orig. bumper and the car bumpers are alot bigger as they start from the trunk lid down, Compared to under the tailgate design of the 74 Elcamino.

GuiseArt, I guess the Chevelle/Laguna bumpers would work I was thinking of 71-72 chevelles. The only thing is, you would not have the taillight holes in the bumper itself like the ElCamino.

Oh, I thought they all had those bumper taillights those years, I'm gonna have to research that idea. Thanks everyone.
