I have a 1966 Chev C60 that I am tearing down for a restore and I was wondering if there are still places out there to get new OEM or aftermarket parts for these larger trucks. LMC doesn't have things like fenders and front end stuff for the larger trucks. I am looking for brake booster parts, fenders and master cylinder parts. Thanks!!

The sheet metal might be a challange to find.

The mechanical stuff is not as hard to find...NAPA still carries lots of big truck stuff.

There probably are some NOS sheet metal still around the country somewhere, but they will be pretty hard to find. Your best bet is a good truck salvage yard located in a dry climate or low humidity climate.

One of these days I am going to post a link to this project of mine and then I will be looking forward to seeing what kind of comments I get. My dad bought the truck new in '66 and it had about 45000 miles on it now. Everything is in pretty good shape but my fenders went south in a hurry after driving it on the salty roads up here in winter. Talk to you guys soon!!

Ihave 1 nos right fender, and 1 good left fender and several other parts

I made a small gallery of my project truck yesterday. The baby blue one is my project and the faded green one is my donor truck that I got the other day. I was going to save that one for a bit yet and see if there were some fenders out there but I decided to get started on this project and will worry about the second truck later.

Does anyone know how to work over the front brakes on this truck too? I was going to adjust them and then on the passenger side the adjusting bolt just broke right off!! I know that they are old but I never thought that a 10 inch ratchet would have enough power to break that bolt. Thanks for the help!!

I have a 1966 C-60 and i feel you're pain. The parts are hard to find for this size truck I had to get SIERRA SPECIALTY to rebuild my master cylinder you can google it and find the web site. There in California state they rebuilt mine due to I was not able to find a rebuild kit.

I am seeing how difficult it is to find parts for this truck of mine. I have been dealing with my local NAPA and we were able to find the front wheel brake adjusting kit, but now finding the diaphram for the master cylinder lid is next to impossible. I went into a specialty brake and clutch place near my hometown only to find lids, bolts and everything else I don't need... Oh well, I will keep searching!!

Hy gqjoe, I think the o.e.m. p/n for the master cylinder reservoir gasket is 5467740 which crosses to Wagner FC54852. I already checked Rock Auto, and no luck there, maybe Napa can cross one of those numbers and find you something, good luck.

i have been able to get a new master for my 65 c60, raybestos mc34404.I also got new wheel cylinders and spring kits are avaible.

Thanks guys for your information about the cylinder gasket and master cylinder. I went into a brake shop in the city and they had a bunch of gaskets a few years ago but they no longer have any of them laying around. For now I just cleaned it all up, and siliconed everything up. When I start driving it in the spring I will look for leaks and go from there! As for the master cylinder itself, my NAPA store couldn't cross my wagner model with one of thiers but now at least I have a number to go from if the pistons go out on me again. Well after some searching and many questions, I finally had to give in and have my master cylinder machined and fixed up. It got to the point where I had no clutch at all and for seeding time would have been a disaster. I had my local garage send it off for me to the city and after all the middle men and freight I am looking at almost $1000.00 !!! I guess it had to be done. The story I got was that since my brake side is very large,(1 7/8") those are very rare and replacing it would be next to impossible. Anyways in my photobucket page I am uploading new photos of the truck and the work I did on it last winter.

I found a school bus and bought the whole front clip to put on my 64 C60 dump truck. A lot less damage than a dump truck or flat bed would encounter. The junk yard used it for parts storage. Your truck looks great. Good luck.

Thank you Dave! I know where there is an old school bus sitting in a guys yard being used as a garden shed. It doesn't look too bad for it's age but I am scared that when I stop in to make an offer for the fenders, I will have to take the whole bus and it's contents too!!
