My crank has to be turned so I will need to replace or refurbish my current con rods what are some options to do it right

Rather then have the babbitt bearing surfaces redone, I would opt to have them cut to accept standard insert bearings. Maybe your current machine shop can do that or you can contact someone like EGGE machine. www.egge.com

When you get them modified to take inserts, you end up with a modern bearing material.
