I am considering putting a 1988-1996 rear end from an E350 in my 1950 3/4 ton GMC to lower the gear ratio. It appears the track witdth on the E350 is around 67 inches and my truck is around 63 inches. Does anyone have experience with this rear end in a similar truck?
Thank-you

Well, your measurements tell you it probably won't place the original wheels under the fenders where they fit...
Are wheels available with the necessary 2" different back spacing? Are you OK with using different wheels front and rear?

Another option is a GM 14 bolt rear axle, they come about 63" wide in some applications.

Thanks for the tip. I am going to the junk yard today to measure an E350 just to make sure. I would like to stay with the 8 lug 6.5 inch bolt pattern if possible.
Thank,

An e-350 is going to be way too wide for that truck.

The rearend is a Dana 60, try checking under Dodge 3/4 and 1 ton vans. That one will work just fine.

Erin,
Check Dodge 3/4 and one ton vans with full floating Dana 60's.
They are usually about 65" wide at the wheel mounting surface.
