Also does anyone know if they made a 3 Spd O.D. with a short tailhousing that's fit the driveline of a truck with factory a 4 on the floor? This is for my 1960 C-10 thanks!
Thanks,as always -Danny

Most Chevies from that era have the HO33 rear, not the dana. The dana was used mainly in GMC. If you do have a 44, here's a site that might help. http://www.ring-pinion.com/PartsList.aspx?SearchMode=Diff&TypeID=3&Type=Dana+Spicer&DiffID=15&DiffName=Dana+Spicer+D44&CatID=10&CatName=Rings+%26+Pinions&CatType=Sub-Differential

Both the cover and the 3rd member have 10 bolts. The Dana/Spicer rear have a somewhat lopsided hex shape, with the larger end being the ring gear side. The should also have the Dana or Spicer logo and model # cast into the housing on the front. Usually the logo is aslo stamped on the cover. The link I posted shows the general shape of the 44 cover.
