Im looking for the 2 sepepate seals. The seal is attatched to the top of the fender/cowl and when you close the hood it seals it. the origanal on mine now looks like some sort of foam material. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 64 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 64 | Its the long seal along each side of the hood....not the seal at the rear of the hood that goes to the cowl. I looked on lmc at the picture and still dont see it..LOL
Maybe im just a lil slow or something tonight.LOL | | | | | Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 4,217 Moderator | | Moderator Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 4,217 | Mine doesn't have a seal there, not on the sides of the hood. What does it need to seal? | | | | | Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 320 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 320 | Mine doesn't have a seal as you describe either. There are bumpers located in that area. So I'm wondering if someone uses a generic seal to replace old worn out bumpers? | | | | | Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 280 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 280 | Manley, My guess is that is not original. Sounds to me like a standard hardware store special. foam weatherstripping with one sticky side. mind you this is without seeing it.

Theres 3 or 4 bumpers for that area(top fender edge to lower hood edge),,or the hood/to cowl seal, which you say it isnt. Or theres the fender welt,,where fender meets the body, just in front of the door. As Ned mentioned,Perhaps someone added a rubber seal in that area?? To stop a rattle. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 64 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 64 | Thanks Guys, you all are great and i appreciate the help
I looked everywhere and couldnt find it so i believe you all are right about someone adding aftermarket foam/seal to stop squeeking or rattling.
And the rubber bumpers arent there,so it only makes sense now that someone added the foam to stop the rattle
Thanks guys i will be ordering the hood bumpers | | | | | Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 64 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 64 | Thanks Guys, you all are great and i appreciate the help
