Whenever my wife goes with me to a car show or cruise she always complains that she has no place to put her feet. I think there is enough room to move the seat back 2 or 3 inches before it would hit the riser for the rear wood floor. It would just be a matter of drilling new holes in the new position and bolting it down. With it folded would there now be enough room to get into the back seats? Anybody ever try this? I am open to any other suggestions on solving this deal. She enjoys going with me and I like having her along because she is an excellent navigator and map reader.

So I'm wondering where your jump seat is mounted ? Like stated above,my drivers seat and jump seat are in- line with each other.I sat in my passenger side and it seems fine with me.

My movable "70% driver's" seat can be placed in line with the "30% passenger's jump seat". There is plenty of room for a passenger's legs on the jump seat (but that seat is less comfortable than the 70% seat.

The seat is adjustable front and rearward within a 5" range and up and down probably 1" or 2". I did this mod because some of the original adjusting mechanism was missing. This along with the tilt wheel makes for a comfortable ride on long trips. The 30% passenger front seat however is bolted down solid and is not adjustable. The seat is also quite narrow and my wife is not as petite as she used to be. This along with very little foot or leg room make for an uncomfortable ride. Instead of bolting it down fast 2 or 3 inches back maybe I should be looking at some way to adjust it back and forth. Anyway I thought maybe some of you had solved this dilemma. I am 5/11 and 208 and there is no way that I could fit in the passenger seat and tolerate a long ride. I need to make it adjustable and I will figure it out sooner or later. Thanks for the replies.

Sully started THIS conversation because he had modified his passenger seat frame to tilt forward. Sully was using late model bucket seats, which is probably more comfortable than the original split seat.
I am not sure that this will work in your circumstance because you are using the original frames and seats. If you look at Sully's seat pictures you will notice that he set HIS SEAT back a couple of inches more than the original seat. The way his seat FLIPS FORWARD may allow more room than the original seat does.
Do you have a picture of your final seat location? Thanks to you other guys for the replies and suggestions. Pics show the drivers seat in the forward and back positions and the passenger seat in the normal and flipped positions. I am using bucket seats from 2005 suburban. To gain extra room I moved both back so that rear of seat sits on top of the "back deck" steel lip. The steel strip is good to attach the rear bolts and then used steel 1" square tubing to level out the front. I think I gained about 3=4" leg room.

Sorry the Mrs. is not as comfortable. I don't know anything really about the Suburbans but it seems to me that the passenger seat is mounted too far forward somehow - more forward than intended as there should be more foot room...

Also I am not familiar with the burbs and panels but the seat bottom looks deeper (longer) than a pickup seat bottom... maybe not. I like the 3-pt seat belts too.

Look at my photobucket. I built a custom flip and used toyota seats.Lots of room and someone 6'3" can sit on either side.

Also made new taller front brackets so the seat now tilts back a little. Seat folds forward almost the same and the cushion hits the dash in almost the same spot.
