Does anyone know what the original engine compartment paint finish was on a 1965 truck? I know it was originally black but I am not sure if it was a gloss, matte or flat. Also, does anyone specifically make the paint for the engine compartment?

nothing "specific" about it, just satin black, not too many different shades wink

I agree with Bill, but, Eastwood doea make paints specificly for under hood restoration. Never understood why they offer so many different paints but your sure to find one there thats close to the original.

Thanks for the replies. I figured it didn't hurt to ask.
