After months of sanding, priming painting, and assembling, I am seeing rust forming around the bolts that were used to attach the sheet metal. My question is....what is everyone doing to prevent/control this?? I used the original bolts, but painted them as well. The real problem is that the paint gets disturbed on the panels as the bolts turn on them. I'm wondering if a shot of clear on, and around each one would help. Makes me sick to see this happening, and surely I am not alone. Truck stays inside, and does not get driven in the rain if possible, so this is happening just from washing etc.

I am just at the bolt back together stage and have decided to use stainless bolts and washers in the areas that can be sceen. Also acorn nut's were needed.

Maybe a dab of silicone under the washers would help.
