Due to unforeseen circumstances the 49 engine is dead. But the head, manifold, litters, rocker arms, and multiple others are still good. Block could be sleeved, but due to funding planning on using a spare 41 216 instead. Is there a list of interchangeable parts between the two. Mainly I would like to use the 49 head and manifold on the 41 engine.

Thanks for the help

So from looking at tech tips and various parts companies it looks like I can use the head on the older 216, which will also allow me the angled exhaust manifold to use my current exhaust. Any have any experience with this?

I have done something just the opposite. Using a ’41 manifold set on the ’53 235 now installed in my ’41. This allowed me to keep my straight down exhaust, manual choke carburetor, and manifold mounted horn. The 235 runs great with this set up.

It looks like most of the parts will swap, btw havving the dead engine brought back to life with a sleeve. So should be good. I have found the most differences in the head and the straight down manifold. the valve stem seals, the valve cover, and road draft tube.

1941-53 216 heads will all interchange. The 1941-48 heads will have 10MM plugs.
1950-53 216 heads are the best as they went to 45 degree exhaust valves and breath better.
