I need to remove the horn button on my '64 to determine what's wrong with my turn signal cancel but I can't find anything in the manual about how to remove it. I don't want to start prying on it and break something. Any advice will be appreciated.
thanks.

Jeff

Don't know about '64, but on my '65 it just pulls off...some rubber holds it on, I think.

If you can't fix it with a hammer and screwdriver, you need a bigger hammer.

Thanks, that's probably it. I tried twisting it off but nothing happened.

There is a rubber surround on the back of the stock horn button on the '60-'66 Chevy/GMC standard steering wheels, which secures it on the wheel cup, via a "friction-fit". It can simply be pulled off, without damage to the rubber ring, horn button or wheel cup. When installing, a little WD-40 or dielectric grease will ease the process of replacing it or removing it in the future.

Ken, If you are still there. It appears I can no longer find the exploded view of the steering column. Lost in my old computer I think. Can you send it long again. (douglas.hamilton1@hotmail.com)

Can anyone help me with continuity check of horn wiring. Horn works when shorted directly to battery. Installed all bits and pieces in steering wheel cap. But no horn. Tried shorting (but my method may have been incorrect) horn plate/cap with steering wheel off. No result.

I have a great horn and an additional H/L set to play with, but can't seem to figure it out.
