The 235 is about 1 1/8" shorter than the 206 and I don't see an obvious way to extend the drivetrain. I'm thinking that I will have to set the rear of the engine where it needs to go and modify the front mount too. Has anyone been down this road ? Any advice on fabricating engine mount supports would be greatly appreciated also. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 843 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 843 | Dmart, does your '36 have the origiunal 2-piece fan shroud?

That was the way that I was headed, extending the front mount. It looks to me that I will also need to fabricate new rear mounts as I don't see the original cross frame fitting between the oil pan and bell housing on the 235 as it did with the 206. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 5,337 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 5,337 | The bell housing should fit, but you will most likely need to trim the front flanges on the cross member to clear the pan, as the 235 pan extends back farther.

I have a bunch of bell housings around so will try to find the one that will accept the original rear mounts. Any words of wisdom on how best to extend the front mount ? It looks like the bolts will be right at the rear flange of the front cross member and I'll need to remove some of that too. | | |
