There is a 60s model GMC 7000 at a junkyard with the gas V-12, wonder what trans was behind it. I didn't think to look when I was there. Does anyone know what all was available?

Big 8000 series Spicer 5 speed is what I remember from the one I had, same as the few a friend of mine has.

Thought I had a picture of the tag in the glove box, but can't find it right now...

Here's one of the transmission.

I assume there were other options, but seems like the Spicer was common.

A 7000 series with a V12 would have come with a Clark 400 Series 5 speed transmission. It was a synchronized transmission with positive lubrication to the main shaft to keep it lubricated during long periods of time in a straight through gear. Spicer 5 speeds would not hold up to the high rpm and torque of the V12. You must keep in mind they went up to 275 HP @ 2400 RPM It could have had a Spicer auxiliary behind it or a 2 speed Eaton axle.

Grigg, after reading your V-12 saga I think I will pass on the V-12 dream. If anyone else would like to pursue the engine or truck pm me and I will reveal its location.
