| | | | Joined: Apr 2000 Posts: 179 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2000 Posts: 179 | I have a YF Carter on a 42 army truck that gets intermittent use plowing the drive and moving heavy stuff around with the winch. Before I bought the army truck the engine and carb were in a 41 1 1/2 ton that was ran even less often. In the 10 plus years I've had it I've probably bought 5 carb kits for it. It's always the same thing. The accelerator pump diaphragm starts leaking into the vacuum port making it run way rich. Stabil hasn't helped. Are all the kits out there old inventory back from when they made good gasoline? Is there a company out there that makes kits for the older carburetors with modern materials designed to tolerate the crap for gas sold now a days?

| | | | | Joined: Jan 2009 Posts: 1,644 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2009 Posts: 1,644 | As good as the YF is ,and it's one of the best the down fall is that the pump material if it is allowed to dry out will harden I called Carb King ,John, and talked to Him this week on that very issue ,it's to bad somone out there could not make a better material but I quess the demand is not there.
