I am replacing the lower 8 inches of my doors on my TF. Anyone who has done this, do you have any tips on doing this? Any pitfalls to watch out for?

Alan, the only thing I would do is fit the doors to the cab and gap them well before welding anything.....
I might even be tempted to tack weld the door to the cab,due to the fact you're disturbing the lower hinge.
Once you're happy with the panel fit and have tacked the repair panels in,remove the doors to finish welding.
It's the only advice I can think of as you obviously know what you're doing judging by your build pics.

Just remember the old adage, measure twice...cut once!
If you approach this as efficiently as you did the roof,I'm sure you'll be fine.

Thanks John, I was thinking pretty much the same thing about fitting the door to the opening. The lower hinge actually will still bolt to the inside of the door with the outer panel removed. That may give me all I need to align the hinge opening on the new panel to the opening. Its all trial & error anyway I guess.

I should have looked closer,it's good you don't have to disturb the lower hinge.

I learned the hard way Alan, in my 'formative years' I repaired a VW Beetle door and it was a mess to say the least!
I eventually gave up and replaced the door as I was sick of the lower edge seal catching on the running board rubber.
