I have located an all original 58 Apache Stepside 32. I really like the Fleetside bed and have found a 58 Apache Fleetside 36.
Would the 36 bed fit on the 32?
This is not going to be a hotrod truck. Mostly a restoration.
For the purists out there, is this a sacrilege?
I haven't made up my mind for sure, just getting opinions on ideas.

yes the 3/4T is the same wheel base as the long 1/2T so there will be no difference in the bed fit .... and I prefer the fleetside myself

I could probably get the 3/4 fleetside for pretty cheap so I figured , why not. If I decide on a restoration later on, would having the fleetside bed on it detract from its value or appeal?

there's no way to identify which style the bed was from the factory - I'd say fleets are more appealing [of course!] and it could have more value for some because that bed is a 2 year only feature ... and note that once a truck has been "restored" it can never be "original" again

Ok. I was thinking maybe somewhere in the VIN it would designate what bed it had. Thanks, that's good to know. I might just have to go pick up the Fleetside just to have for later.
