Folks - Rose and I were looking at 12V wiper motor setups from Carter and New Port; but inside every BIG problem are small problems trying to get free.

Case in point. When we bought Matilda, the original vacuum wiper motor and linkage arms were gone. No doubt the PO had intended to switch all of this over when he did the 12V conversion. Regardless, all we have under the dash are the pair of wiper arm arbor shafts. That's it. Do any of y'all know where I can get the linkage? I don't even know what it looks like. If any of you could be kind enough to send me a photo of what you have under the dash, or can add some info here, I'd surely appreciate it.

Also, where is the "original" choke cable? This is apparently an issue for the correct wiper motor. I think I read that the stock choke came out the top of the dash. I have a hole there; no cable. My choke is on the face of the dash roughly above the ignition switch and paired with, I presume, a throttle cable (the cable in this location is cut and frozen, with no ID on the knob)
So, I am not sure which wiper set up to use.

I'd appreciate any leads on link arm assemblies and how the heck they fit, as well as your input on wiper motors.

TIA,

John

1947 Advance-Design cab?

Choke and Throttle cable/knob - front of dash

Vacuum wiper-motor on/off switch - hole in top of the dash

Maybe someone with a 47-53 cab will post a photo of the dash (and of a wiper motor/switch assembly)?

If you want to switch the whole wiper assembly out, I've been told that an assembly from a Mazda pickup is a cable driven unit, and it doesn't matter where the wiper spindles are located, as being cable driven they can be placed in your existing holes.
