I rebuilt the Carb, Got it running reliably, adjusted the valves, Bled the brakes, cleaned the grain bed and worked the hydraulic hoist, and Air'd up the tires. It is slow compared to my 3/4 ton when driving. I am sure I need to check the timing and the dwell and such, but that will happen tomorrow.

Great day! Felt good to drive the battleship around.

Running strong, Hoist Working

Notice the red and white Paint on the bed?

The White strips are removable by turning small brackets to give you a breathable stakeside. The bed will be cleaned and re-painted to match original, everything was paint top bottom, EVERYthing.

Not fully up, but close

The bed was not fully up here, but good enough for the time being. I will replace the hydraulic hoses and fluid. The seals are in good shape.

I took the bed extenders off. When cleaning the cab out I found some grain receipts from the Elevator in Adams NE. They showed where the Owner turned in over 15,000lbs of corn. The Serial plate shows 11,000lbs. Considering that there are over 30 receipts for loads over 15,000lbs the sludge in the gearbox is not a surprise. I will warm it up and drain, and clean out a few times. Overall everything is in good shape. The seat cover and under the seat had regular residents but Mickey's clubhouse has been cleaned out. More pics tomorrow with Videos.

New wire harness and Rubber floor go in Saturday, as well as Timing and dwell adjustments, then a test ride.

I have a '49 4400 flat bed, too. Anyone have info on how to get faster road speed?
