I messed up my ignition switch, found
another one.Mine had the chrome piece with
"ears" where the key slides into the switch.
The guy who sold me the replacement
told me that this would be a replacement
switch,as the originals didn't have the ears.
Does anyone else have an original truck that came the same way as mine? Or
was mine replaced at some time?

The originals didn't have the ears. My 61 had those tabs also but it wasn't the right one, so I replaced it with an original out of a parts truck a friend has.
