Took the fan off to paint and noticed a crack. Got a NOS fan blade and it did not match. The part # on this fan is correct. The existing fan has a 1" hole and uses 1/4" bolts. The new fan has 5/8" center hole. The new fan is 2" larger in diameter. Tried to get the old pulley off to check for #s or see if pump flanged has two sets of screw holes - could not get off. Pulley appears to have center cap that protrudes out and you can see a 5/8" shaft end inside it. What do I have existing here? The existing fan has 4 rivets new one two.

1956 3200. The block is a 1955 235. It would appear there is a mix of parts here. Tom Duffy

The nos blade was for a 1956 235. I just got an email from a Brad Allen that appears to answer my question. The pictures show a shot pump used to 54 and it looks like the pump on my truck. Looks like I need a fan Blade for the older short style pump. Is there a list for the head numbers for 6cyl. motors?

I found the head to be a 53-up. This explains the older short water pump. Mentioned this at the coffee-shop round table and a fellow car nut said he had a 49 pickup with the blade I needed. He called today and I went to his house and boy does he have parts. He is a street rodder and has lot of car & truck bodies. Next to the garage was the 49 Chevy pickup with a stock 216. He said the engine ran when parked and was still able to turn over by hand. He must have 20 old chevy cars and truck in various shapes in the yard and a large pole building. Well - got the fan blade cleaned and primed and just put the last paint coat on. Hope this is the end of this sidetake and on to another. Thanks to everyone and especially Brad Allen.
