Does anyone know who does vin plates restorations?

You can buy repop data plates & stamp the info onto them. There is a member over at the VCCA who makes & stamps them for members and at a good price. I had to buy a repop for my '38 & stamped it myself. I discovered that the factory stamping back then is slightly different (size wise) from any modern stamp I've found.

Do you have to be a VCCA member in order to contact the VCCA member who stamps them for users?
I assume that a person would need a valid original ID plate in order for someone to stamp those numbers into a reproduction plates (for legal reasons)? This is a general question (it looks like AVP60 has an original ID plate).
I have original plates that have been cracked/dented and it would be nice to be able to get my IDs onto reproduction plates (even though the 1954 reproduction plates do not provide an original-sized "window" for the stamping).

He only advertises in the G&D (club magazine). He's quite reasonable. I paid $25 + shipping for my repop then had to stamp it. That's when I discovered the odd sizes for the stamps. He charges $15 (at the time anyway, don't know if that's still his price or not) for members. Unfortunately I didn't find out about him until after I'd done mine.
