The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area General Truck Talk Which Manual(s) needed for my 1954 3100 ??

I got her (54 3100) home last night & going to start the tear down in the morning.

I went to the Faxon web site & saw their offerings. I think that the CD titled:
"1947-1954 Chevrolet Pickup Truck Assembly Manual Reprint" would be the one to have.

I have a computer in my shop so could have access to it anytime & print out those pages I need...

Comments or suggestions??

That is a very helpful manual (but some people find that it takes a while to understand how the material in it is organized).

Here are other helpful manuals:

The Truck Operator's Manual is available online, in reprint, and on DVD/CD-ROM

The Truck Specifications manual/booklet is available from GM (See Tech Tips) and online

The Truck Shop Manual is available online, in reprint, and on DVD/CD-ROM

Your right Factory assembly manual is very handy.

Also take a ton of "as is" pics before you take everything apart. If you think you’re taking to many, snap a few more. Every inch.
Pay attention to the body gaps.

That’s one thing I wish I had done a better job of.
Try to save as much of the original parts as you can, even fasteners.

I have the shop manual, the shop manual CD, and the Factory Assembly Manual. Even though the FAM is for the 54 model year it is the one manual I use the most. I find the pictures more informative than the written words in the shop manual.
DAD550 is right take mucho pics, you'll need them.
