Can anyone tell me if a clock housing from a 53-54 Chevy car will fit a Chevy PU Truck?

I have a chance to buy a chrome housing from a car and I want to know whether it will fit the dash of my '54 Chevy truck.

No it will not fit, the clock is the same but the housing is unique to the truck.

53 and 54 cars didnt have a housing. The clock was stuck in a hole in the dash.
51 and 52 cars had a housing on top of the dash, but its totally different from the truck one.
But, as Brad said, the 53-54clock itself will work in the truck housing.
Zark, I sent you a P.M.

Does this mean the the chrome housing I found on the internet is from a '51-'52 Chevy car? and will not fit the '54 chevy truck?

I was a little unclear on the answer. I guess I'm an old slow learner and fairly new to the discussion of optional parts available on my '54 PU. I purchased a refurbished original clock but can't find a housing to mount it into.

I don't want to buy something that won't work.

Thats correct,Zark. That chrome one on e-bay is for a 51 or 52 car. It wont work on a 54 truck.
