Thought I found out the history of the engine in my '53 3100........
Can anyone help me in finding out the correct engine-type and year of production.
Blocknumber is 3769716 (there are extra castingnubers CON14 D32 GM17), headnumber is 3836848/GM12.
My best guess after looking at the different sites with explanations of VIN's and other numbers is:
A 235 ci from 1960. The engine wears an extra alu tag: Stock number 5068, Power Pack, Rebuilt engine. Thanks for any help!!!

Hy Chevert, in my reference material says 3769716 is a 235 block produced between 58-62, 3836848 is listed as a head for a 1956 235. As for the extra tag it is most likely a rebuilders tag, evidenced my the obvious miss match in parts you have on your engine hope that helps.
