Just reverse the two leads and the motor will run in the right direction,that type of motor will run in both directions depending on how you wire it.

On ANY DC motor you cannot reverse rotation without reversing the field or the armature. You can reverse the line leads all day and not change a thing.

EXCEPTION
those with permanent magnet fields -
BUT
when you reverse the line leads you have reversed the armature so it still holds true.

if you're hoping the heater will work as designed with the fan turning backwards, the simple answer is "no, it won't" .... if you know the direction of rotation, buy one that's correct, problem solved

The aftermarket 12volt blower motors from china,will reverse direction depending on what wire is attached to positive and negative.Ive found that the blower motors from Classic Parts Of America,orange wire is negative and the black is positive.Why is this happening ?

The original 6volt motors will turn the same direction,no matter how it's hooked up.

If you are sitting in the truck looking at the front of the heater,the blower motor should turn counter clockwise.

Tim - it's happening cuz electrically they're wired different internally, there are a number of applications where reversing a motor is useful and it's cheaper with mass production nowadays to have a single product suit the widest possible range of uses

With DC motors you can reverse line leads all day and they will not reverse. You must reverse either the field or the armature circuit to get reversal.

The older motors more than likely have a wound field so you have to reverse it or the armature. If you have only two wires coming out of motor you cannot do as is. YOu will have ot open up and bring out both the armature and field leads.

The China motors are more than likely permanent magnet. In this case reversal of line leads reverses just the armature which is why they reverse.
