For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 109 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 109 | The 1966 GMC Suburban has air bags in it. As far as I can tell, nothing has been cut or altered in the front and other than the rear axle being on the wrong side of the leafs.
I want to go back to stock coils in front and flip the rear where it belongs.
The question is: Has anyone had experience with ordering coils. Mook, I think was the only thing I found that did not say "for 1/2 ton PUs only"
Are most of the suspension items that fit a 1/2 PU interchangable with Suburbans? I don't want to blindly take the person that answers the phone to be completely correct.
Thanks in advance
It's a 1966 GMC Suburban

Your Brake and Fuel lines will be different, but most everything else, especially from the doors forward. I saw Front Coils in the Summit book, and I got the same ones from a local parts store, and they are made by Moog. Is yours a Chevy or GMC? I thought most of them were Coil Springs in the rear. There was some discussion on this in an earlier post not long ago. Good luck | | |
