Sometimes they have little bins of them that might make it easy to match up. Speed shops will carry them, but you'll need to bring one with you there also.

They had the small springs for my 6 V generator... I picked a new Distributor up from ROCKAUTO1954 CHEVROLET TRUCK 3.9L 235cid L6 : Ignition : Distributor A-1 CARDONE Part # 301609 Reman; Point Type it fit right in with no problems...
