Got a new SM420 - well, it's ancient, but it's new to me - and I'd like to replace all the gaskets while it's out. Is there a recommended material and/or manufacturer? Many thanks, Nick | | | | | Joined: Apr 2009 Posts: 164 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2009 Posts: 164 | felpro has a set that is good quality. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 2,843 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 2,843 | Nick, When installing the paper gaskets, coat them with a little bit of Hylomar or Ultra Black. Install and let them set overnight before adding the tranny oil.

I've even made them from brown grocery store bags. Metal survaces cleaned with laquer thinner and a little silicone sealer on both gasket surfaces and you're done!
