on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Feb 2009 Posts: 44 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2009 Posts: 44 | I'm just getting ready to put the fenders and running boards back on my '37 half ton truck. Most of the hardware that came off it was pretty "used up". Any thoughts as to the best source for correct restoration hardware? Are ANY of the kits that are available any good, or am I better to just locate high quality replacement pieces. If so does anybody have a breakdown of correct sizes. (Some of mine was non original repair stuff when I took it off) I also left the original body (cab) mounts installed as I wasn't confident that replacement mounts would be correct and high quality. The originals looked ok, but they are 70+ years old. Has anyone used a set (and whose were they). I'm starting to think I should just do them regardless of their appearance. I would describe the restoration as original and pretty complete, but body on, with a lot of time spent under the truck (just to give you an idea of why I am rethinking the body mounts). I just don't want to take off an old, but correct item and replace it with junk from China. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 2,393 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 2,393 | Totally Stainless over in Aspers on Heidlersburg Road not far from you might br able to help you. I say might because I don't see any info on '37's in their catalog, but who knows until you ask. Plus it's local. Here's their address. 1945 Heidlersburg Rd., Aspers.
