Hi,

I'm putting my '56 GMC model 150 back together, and I find I'm missing a star wheel spring from when I took it apart 10 years ago. Everything else in the braking system is new- shoes, springs, cylinders, hoses, lines, MC (dual). Anyone know where I can find one or what range of years/ models would work at a junkyard?

Thanks,
Dave

Hi, dan-pa,

Thanks for the fast reply! I had tried there and got a set of hold-down and return springs a few years ago from NAPA, my FLAPS down the street. 10 yrs ago I got stainless windshield wipers for my truck off the rack! But alas, a few years ago they did not have the star spring, but had the other springs, and now there are no springs at all for my truck listed in their database. Is there another way of asking? I may need to go to a junkyard and have them do a Hollander search.
Dave

Do you still have the spring for the other side? Take it in, don't tell them what it's for, and just match it up. That spring didn't change all that much over the yaers, so they should be able to come up with one.

Try Napa again. They had a full set of springs etc for my 65 2 months ago. Should have some for yours.

I got a set of '67 Chevy springs, the star wheel springs are same length, will find out if they fit. Slightly different ends.
