My old 216 finally bought the farm(she blew up). I am going to swap it out for a mid seventies 250. Any ideas on short cuts or problem areas. It is going in a 1948 2 ton.

The early V8 bell housing works on a 54 crossmember. Water pump/fan will be tight fit but will work, and be a little low on the radiator. Someone makes custom motor mounts, do a search, topic has been well covered.
