Ok, I'm just curious about this. I've got a 3/4 ton, 1980 Chevy truck. I don't suppose the '53 3/4 ton body (cab, front, box, 235 motor) would fit on it would it? I suspect at the very least the rear end of the 1980 is probably wider so that the tires would stick out too far for the stock fenders (not to mention dropping the motor and tranny in it). Just curious if anyone knows. The rear end, the brakes and the steering would all be really nice in it.

I've seen 1980's frames that are 4x4's used but no 2 wheel drive.Most guys here that have 2 wheel drive use the S-10 frame and suspension's .

I'd guess most guys here use their original frames. A lot of us do anyway.

My plan is to use the original frame. Its just I was going to sell my 1980 which I know I'll only get about a thousand out of and I thought.....hmmmm - I wonder if??? and the frame question just kind of popped in there.
