I took the seats out of my 1949 3800 in for rebuild. The original owner had the seats recovered by the dealer at the time of purchase with a bright red seat cover. The dealer marked it in his owner's manual(that I now have)
Well being a grain truck, then a grave digger's truck, and now my truck, the seats were worn out. I went to a local apolstery shop and picked out some red vinyl that had a similar color and grain to the seat material that was folded under and protected from the uv.
The vinyl is a marine grade, very heavy and advertises as UV resistant.

Well I picked them up today and they look great.
Pics to come. total for complete rebuild of cushion material, custom sewn covers was $275, 1 week turnaround. I think it is a pretty good deal.

You bet good deal, my guy wanted $200 to just install the Jim Carter seat cover. Guess who's doing the upholstery job now???
Pics to come!!!
I just read in another thread where a guy had his done in cloth for $125. Sure taint none of those upholstery shops around our area that work that cheap.
