My old tank has had it. I took it out to have it cleaned since it was full of rust and what all. It have been out once before and it is sick. The tank guy wants $250 to open it, chemically clean it, weld it shut.

I want to go with another tank instead. I found an exact replacement on UPAY plus it looks like www.fillingstation.com has a repro too for $350 plus shipping.

Are there any generic replacement tanks that are cheaper? I have looked at a few on the internet for $175- $225 but of course will need some work to get a new neck in to fit in the correct position.

Troy,

In my opinion, by the time you mess aroung trying to install a miss fit tank you will have spent the same amount of money as just getting the correct one from the start. The correct tank will have the filler neck, drain plug and sending unit all where they need to be.
