This is sorta reposted over in the engine area, thought i'd post something about it here just in case.

A guy is selling what he thinks is a 1952 235 from a 1952 1.5ton or 2ton. The numbers on it are:

on the block /distributor side: N375583 CAL
on the cylinder head, intake and ex. side: 3701887 GM3
on the cylinder head, distributor side B2 887 O66 670

I can't find "3701887" (or 375583) on the list of casting numbers at http://www.inliners.org/becks/BCN2.html or http://clubs.hemmings.com/clubsites/chevytalk/GMhistory/cast.html

Any ideas on what these numbers should be telling me? What the heck is this motor?

Best,
Nick

if it is a 52 it will have a tall side cover, 2 bolt valve cover and look just like a 216 so be sure what it is before you buy it.
