My windows are installed however I do not like the lower window felt that came with them. the part that is horisontal and snaps into the bottom of the door window opening. New cars have rubber scrapping material that makes this a waterproof seal. Has anyone been trough this and know were to order material? hope I made this clearer than mud
the cat whiskers are meant to stop wind noise and rattle, the water seal on the outside is the rubber lower sash piece, the "lip" is to the outside and when the window is rolled up it pushes against the bottom of the whisker .... the windows are never 100% waterproof, that's why there's drains in the bottom of the doors - these ain't grand pianos after all
the rubber pieces you show did not come with the kit I got from brothers, they sent only the u channel and two cat wiskers or felt pieces that snap into holes horizontally across bottom of window opening. Were could I get the seal you show? The one piece windows work well and look great they just do not seem to have put a lot of time into the u channel or seals.
if you mean you eliminated the vent window, then the lower sash seal would have to be longer to suit the different sash, the material should be available from an auto glass shop by the foot, for the original side windows the sash seal is sold seperate from other rubber, it's usually only needed when the glass is replaced in the metal frame
I found this on youtube, I wish I had seen it before I started, I did pretty much the same as the video and all is well, however if you are thinking of installing the one piece glass do look at this youtube series, there are 5 seperate videos.
Not trying to high-jack the thread here, but I got a question. How do you replace the rubber seal on the bottom of the window? When I installed all my new window seal pieces, that is the one I couldn't figure how to replace.
