on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Knowing that would help folks with some suggestions. The winch may have some use but the boom probably doesn't unless you just like it the way it is. If you want to use the truck the winch could be placed on a flatbed to make a car carrier (?) The truck looks to be in good condition and is worth a full restoration. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 502 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 502 | I agree with Dave, unless you have a use for that rear end, I'd be wanting to convert that truck to something useful and better looking.
You said it looked home made, I'll agree with that, it does and always will.
If it were me, I'd dream up a good looking rear that would make me a proud owner of that truck cause it does have a fine looking cab.

He passed quite a while ago and I have a lot of great memories of the two of us restoring a couple of 57 chevy cars I had as a kid. I was looking for a 55-57 chevy car when I found my truck. I don't really care that the bed looks homemade and I was thinking of doing a tribute theme for my Dad. Bob's garage and towing, something like that. Problem is he never owned a garage, so maybe I could do a flatbed delievery truck with a family logo on it. Our family owned a factory back in the day and I remember going there with my Dad as a kid. It was a small business on the verge of going under and my Dad worked there on the weekends to help out.I like the look of the wrecker bed though. I'm going ahead with a frame off retoration with some updates regardless. So that's my story and I'll be happy to read anyones input and ideas. Thanks! | | |
