the head casting #3835913 -in liners says
1954 & 55 Chevrolet 235
Will this head work on a 1959 Chevrolet pickup truck motor 235- casting # CON G39?

56 to 62 takes a casting #3836848. The head gasket is the same, but there is a difference in the water ports.

The head will work fine, the only problem you will have is the temp sender hole. 1956 and later had electric senders that require a larger hole in the head.
