Ive got a question I was hoping to get some help with.I need to buy a radiator for my 1962 V8 2 WD chevy truck.Ive ben looking at many but none seem to have the tabs for the factory fan shroud to mount to.Any suggestions? Thanks, scott.

The factory fan shroud for the '60-'66 Chevy trucks with a factory V8 are not part of the radiator. They are fan shroud extensions, that attach to the radiator support and extend past the radiator, making attachment of the fan shroud possible. With an e-mail address, I can send you a few photos.

The factory V8 fan shroud attaches, via the holes in the face of the radiator support. I don't have photos of the individual pieces, but there are two, one on either side of the radiator support and a single one across the top of the radiator support. Each piece has a rubber infill piece, that is secured with staples from the factory. I hope this information is helpful.

My '62 came with the original radiator, but no shroud. It had tabs on the metal straps that run down the side of the core, to mount the shroud.
The replacement radiator I bought didn't have those tabs.

After doing some research, I discovered that the 1-ton radiator is a little wider, and a little taller, but bolts to the 1/2-ton core support with no problem: the difference in width is made up by the width of the mounting flange on the radiator. It's a bolt-in.
I got it from US Radiator.

This required a 1-ton shroud, which I believe is also the same shroud used for automatic trans-equipped 1/2-tons. (same with the radiator)
I've started fabricating some mounting brackets, but haven't finished them yet. When complete, they should look like they came that way from the factory.
