Got a Chevrolet motor 235 I think? Year unknown? Motor is a transplant into a 1941 chevrolet ton & 1/2 dump truck.
Says Chevrolet on blue valve cover 2 screws on each side hold it on, oil cap on top of cover
head casting #3835913 driver side of head.
On the pass. side of head
B26 913
241
570
In liners list head casting #3835913 as 1954 1955, 235 head--original head I don't know?
Plate behind distributor F706J number.cannot find the distributor plate casting # listed? Cannot find block casting # anywhere on block ?
Need correct year of motor so I can buy parts.
thanks Bill

The serial number comes out as Flint plant, built on June 7th, and the original application was truck w/manual trans, weight class will vary by year, and it is a '58-'62 engine. To find the exact year, the date code is cast on the passenger side of the block, at the rear next to where the starter mounts.
