The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Engine Shop 58 Apache 3200

I have recently obtained this truck--as far as I can tell it is still all stock--The exhaust pipes are all rusted out. The truck has the original 283 engine. I want to keep it as stock as reasonable. The rams horn manifolds are good. Should I be looking for original exhaust pipes or some alternative?

not likely to find original pipes unless you stumble on some NOS someplace, but if you check around older muffler/exhaust shops someone may have the spec card for bending them up - the crossover pipe will be the hard part, but a good exhaust shop should be able to make one up .... other wise any shop could make up the needed pipes for duals, which wasn't the original way, but works and sounds nice w/ a 283
