i just took my rear leafs off my 57 this week, but cant remember if the front leaf eye's get the thin rubber grease seals like the rear shackles do....
please set me straight.

The illustration of the front shackle in the ’56 resto-pack shows a washer in place. Anyway, all of them that I’ve seen do use a dust seal in the front. The parts book is a little vague and it is not always 100% correct so I wouldn’t take that as gospel anymore than I would what is printed in a vendors catalog. On the AD's the leaf springs mount directly underneath the frame rails, so the shackle mounts are a different style. On the 57's the leaf springs mount on the outside of the frame rails. On the front eyes of the rear leafs its just a pin, not a bolt. got the leafs installed today. and no rubber grease seals for the front mounts (rear leafs). there aint no room for them, just the holding pin and lock pin.
when i get it all lowered i will post pics. i flipped the rear on the leafs and got me another 2 inches... gonna look cool.
after i finish the rear, then i gotta mess with the front leafs.
